I've been using my e-bike daily, but not straying too far on it. I always joke that it is my wheel chair, that has become so true. Everywhere I would have ordinarily walked, I now zip along on my e-bike. I go to school with the boys in the morning on it, I do any jobs or shopping in town on it. I very regularly go to Spar on it. Both the boys love riding on the back of it. I go to my Saturday job of park run marshal on it, nipping down the old railway line to the turnaround in no time on it. I go to my Sunday job of Junior park run lead bike on it. It is invaluable. last year I did 2500 miles on it.
Every single time I ride it out into Manor Park I’m amazed at how easy it is to move quickly. Any other time I move it’s awkward, uncomfortable, and tricky. Having my ebikes has totally changed my life, since I forgot how to walk straight. I just hope I can always ride them, most of my future plans rely on it!
I have loads of e -bike rides planned. I'll be going Coast to Coast in May, with bike the UK for MS, I will hopefully be accompanied by a couple of old school friends, whether by e-bike or not. If this goes well, I’ll be.going from Lands End to John O Groats trip in July. Again with bike the UK for MS. I like the idea of having a support vehicle following, carrying everything.
My long term goal, which I like the look of, is to join up with bike the US for MS, on a trans America trip. I have permission from Yvonne and the kids, for a couple of months off. The route looks awesome. I think I could do it.
Walking has got more difficult over the years, I just hope that I can continue to still ride my bike.
Had a look through all my spares the other day, then used them all to build yet another e-bike.
I am now the very proud owner of three awesome e-bikes.
I have had my rear wheel taken to pieces, and a melted cable replaced, by my dad. An amazing job.
I'd be too frightened to take the hub apart, let alone, replacing wires and being able to put it all back together fully functioning.
The insides of my electric hub motor.
